I oftentimes contemplate how wonderful and easy life would be if God simply spoke to me and told me what to do and what to say. It would make it a lot easier to do his will, and I can only assume he wants me to do his will. Is it too much to ask that being his child I receive his instruction? Why must it remain a mystery?

Why would god have a need to conceal himself? Why would he even need faith and belief in him to know him? Why would he only reveal himself sometimes, not all the time, to believers? There's a flaw in this thinking and I don't believe it is god's.

Daily life is filled with people who are addicted to ego, while among spiritually aware people, we have so many who want to focus on peace and love. If this is a test, what I see in life is not the need to leave society and promote non-participation as in love and peace...I see the need to treat others lovingly and peacefully as we work for the cause.
Seeking truth would be something we want in a person who passes the test. Speaking out and defending truth, while also showing a commitment to truth in our actions, instead of running away from adversity and taking the easy way out like a spoiled child, would be sort of a noble action.
God is not serving us...obviously. Could be several reasons, and one may be simply a test. This world needs real men who serve, not Jesus wanna-bees who coast. If we were supposed to all be hippies we would have gone to a non-vibrating world.
Enlightenment is an end result...a finished product. We don't need a huge mass of enlightened people in a world addicted to ego with no commitment to truth, and a society that only cares about money. We need great people who work for the cause and sacrifice to defend truth and fight the evil. And once we have retired from a life where we proved we were men, then we can become gods.
Or, maybe God should get out there and mow my lawn for me.
