Is Christianity Jesus' idea? was created by SubsidingInsanity
The question I'm posing is if Jesus intended to start a new religion why would he go through all the trouble of allowing himself to be crucified and not bother to write anything down?
The earliest book in the new testament is probably Galatians. Unfortunately, Paul did not get around to writing Galatians until about 50 years after the crucifixion. So if Jesus never wrote anything down, if the authors of the new testament never met Jesus, and if Rome destroyed most of the early Christian works to redefine Christianity in their image, how can a Christian claim that the new testament is accurate?
Today we have hundreds of different Bibles, and tens of thousands of branches of Christianity. Most claim that they are right and the other guy has it wrong. How is a fella supposed to make sense of it?

It was written down approximately 50 years, 75 years, and even 100 years of Jesus' death, after being "Romanticized" by oral tradition. So it's anybody guess really.
I was just thinking about something similar to this. If this being is so enlightened and powerful, that he can move in and out of form with basically no trouble at all, then his birth, life, death and Resurrection would have been only a thought to him, something so simple, like a daydream is to us. But did it consciously to give the messages " Love thy Neighbor " , " ... Let he who is without sin throw the first stone ..." and " The Kingdom of Heaven is inside you " - to us here on earth. Therefore the worship and everything we see today was not part of the intention.
But in my opinion humanity wasn't ready for him yet, one could argue that while many good things have been done in Jesus name, an equal or greater number of bad things have been done in his name, and I don't think that was the intention.

I think Jesus is probably the most misunderstood prophet in history. Jesus identified purely with spirit which is why I don't believe he suffered while being crucified. For me the crucifixion and resurrection mean 3 things.
1) We are not really these bodies.
2) The power of forgiveness.
3) True condemnation is impossible.
Such a message was entirely incompatible with Roman ambitions, so they transformed his teachings into a doctrine of control through fear. It's quite telling that most of the new versions of the Bible that are coming out today do not even use the word "hell" in them. There simply is no evidence that Jesus ever preached it.
