I practice an ongoing meditation throughout the day, I start as soon as I remember after waking up and 'connect' before I put my feet to the floor, I open my mind to the infinity of the 'outside' energy of life I feel this touching me and then as I breath in this energy I also soak it in with my whole being I then 'shine' this energy out from me. I don't have any set time limit , I could do 20-30 quickies connecting throughout the day, for me it's not about time it's about remembering, choosing, feeling and knowing the connection and keeping it alive as opposed to done it this morning or will do it to-night, I'm breathing anyway and it only costs me a change of mind and a little time
Happy Every Day

I've tried many techniques over the years, but what really ended up working for me is not having any technique...

I don't even track my time, I just sit comfortably, close my eyes and focus on my breath.

Hi! I know I'm new, but I thought I'd reply.

I try to meditate often, as in even if I try for just 10 minutes several times a day. Some days I just don't get to it, but on days like today, where somewhere in the cracks some time bubbled up to use I take advantage of it!

Ok, here's one way... I listen, deeply to what's going around me...the regular sounds of your house, or traffic outside, or birds in trees, or the fridge turning on, those are like the top of the jar sounds...then I try to listen to what's underneath them, letting them melt away until you can't hear them anymore and all I can hear is an immense quiet that sounds thick and it pushes against my ears.

Then once the quiet fades into nothing, I try to forget my body by being so in-tune with it and I no longer need to hear it in my head. Then I'm free to let go of life and the qualms of everyday being a human. From there depending on whats been on my mind. Sometimes all it takes to get through something is to unplug. Other times answers float up to the surface and I can grab them.

The OTHER way I meditate is I'll go outside my house and jump on one of my two horses. One is a sage and has been here many many times, the other is a rainbow and i think this is her first time on earth. I try to be more like them because they are more connected to the earth than I. Once connected, then peace. But it always bubbles. I think it's supposed to be like that.

Oh, ginger tea helps me. Or the smell of lilacs in spring. Or knowing that my warm fuzzy beasts are outside happily munching on hay. :-P

I do the breathing exercises of Ruben Papian three times a day (morning, noon, evening). Don't know if you guys have ever heard of them. They are amazing.

According to The Divine Spiritual Sadhguru., 'Meditation is not something that you do; meditation is something that you become. Meditation is not an act; it is a certain quality that you grow into. There is not any fixed set of rules as to how to meditate, meditation is an on-going process in ones life. Meditation means giving you an experience, an inner state, where what is you and what is yours is separate. It brings an absolute clarity of perception; you see life just the way it is. ' Meditation revolutionizes ones life and brings in positive thoughts. Meditation also helps in connecting with their own soul and understanding the true underlying meaning of life. One must being in meditation in their lives.
